Organizing by points :
Analytical writing is often organized according to points. Points are the major parts or divisions of the topic. They are the ideas the writer will write about. The writer gives two, three or four subpoints to support the main idea. Each subpoint is further supported with details and examples.
I think there are some common principles of organization are as follows :
1. order of importance--from the least important to the most important
2. order of familiarity--from the most familiar to the least familiar
3. order of time--from the past to the present

In fact, it's what I usually hesitate in writing, sometimes I don't know what transition should I put because I found there are lots of transitions have the same chinese translation, but actually, they are used in different ways, I always be confused. After the class, I learned some useful transitions that I can use correctly, but I think I still have to read more articles and do more exercises to familiar with them.
